Tooth and Drill

April 23, 2009

I have no idea what I’m doing in office today. I have no idea how I’m typing this. I feel like my hands are going to fall off and my head is going to snap and roll into some corner infested with cockroaches that will feast on my brain. Sorry about that. I’m so frustrated. I’ll tell you why.

Recently, an unignorable ache became a part of my existence. In my mouth to be precise. I thought my lip was swelling up but didn’t pay any attention. When I woke up the next morning, my lip could’ve put tribal Africans to shame. It was that huge! I refused to go to work. I couldn’t go looking like that. So I sat at home. Went to the dentist in the evening.

Turns out the filling I had in my incisor had shifted position and now I had a pus filled mouth. The pus was leaking out. Have you ever tasted pus? It’s rather unpleasant (this is an understatement). So the dentist got his instruments ready and drilled a hole in my tooth. He then thought it would be really cool to shove pins into the hole. He was trying to remove the filling. The filling was made of rubber and so he was trying to screw it out.

I was literally being screwed. 😀 The experience was quite strange because I didn’t feel anything. That’s because my tooth is fake. He managed to pull out the filling finally after one grueling hour and some pus fumes. I now have a hole in my tooth with a piece of cotton, soaked in some camphor something, stuffed in it. It tastes funny. Everything I eat tastes funny. But that’s okay.

The worst part is the medicines. I’m on heavy antibiotics and painkillers so I’m unconscious most of the time and when I’m not I wish I was. Like right now. But this is just the beginning. The worst is yet to come. I’ll keep you posted.
